Why I Created This Blog
It's been said, "When the going gets tough, the tough get going." So, why then would the leaders of a church - the people who comprise the pulse of the church, not the leaders by title - start running for the door just because there's controversy? Is this what God wants? Is this what He created us for? Is it "Crash" or burn?
My heart is for Jesus. My heart is for those who don't yet know Him. My heart is for the church body that's hurting and torn apart by men and not by God. My heart is for the world and those who will rot in hell unless we get out there and allow God to use us to lead the lost to Him. He doesn't need me, yet He wants to use me - because He loves me. Therefore, I've decided to stay. Therefore, I've decided to be the leader God has called me to be.
I'm dedicating this site to the revolutionaries. Not the revolutionaries who've decided they've created a better way, but the revolutionaries who've decided to follow God's way. It's not about me. It's not about my ideas. It's about crying out to the followers of Jesus Christ and rallying them towards UNITY! Now there's a revolutionary idea!
You want to sing? Then sing! You want to dance? Then dance! You want to use drama, art, sign language, or any other gift He has given you to worship Him? You want to worship the Lord Our God with all your heart and soul? Then get to it! But, don't run from your responsibilities! Stand and fight. Stand together united and lead the way.

Laurence, how do you respond when the line has been clearly drawn, and you are asked to choose one way or another, and the way you are being asked to choose does not match up under GOD's leadership? I would really like to get together and discuss this further with you...
Susie,
3For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. (Romans 13:3)
Even though we are tought in the same chapter of Romans to submit to governing authorities, I don't believe God meant this as blind submission. In other words, God would not expect you to follow an authority figure who causes you to sin against Him.
What I'm saying is that in times like this - times when we have serious questions about those in authority over us - we need to take action (leadership). This isn't the time for flight.
We should continue following the authority figures God places over us until He replaces them with someone else or calls us to move somewhere else. Just because we're hurting or uncomfortable doesn't mean it's time to move. We'll just end up taking our angst with us.
Leaders express their concerns and hold those in authority accountable for their decisions. If we believe someone in authority over us is in error, then we need to let that person know. And, we should also encourage others to do the same.
When a line has been drawn in the sand, there are two who can step over it - either us or the person who drew it. As a leader, I will step over the line in righteousness and love to reach out to the person who drew it. If I get knocked back because of my actions, then so be it. I move forward knowing it won't be easy.
All of our authority figures have someone in authority over them. God will be my rock in times such as these, not men who are fallible to human ambition.
I'd love to talk about this with you and Mark sometime.
Let's get together soon, Laurence. You have caused me to think about all of this in different ways, and I thank you for that. I love you guys!
Laurence,
So...I've read all of your posts.
Clearly you're angry and I know that some of that is directed at us. I'm sorry for our part in that anger. I'm sad and disappointed that we (the people you have blasted in these posts) haven't been able to communicate how God has been speaking to us and why we are moving to or away from FBC at this time in a way that allows you to trust our integrity and relationship with the Lord.
Ultimately, it sounds like God is stirring in you as well. I pray that you act in complete obedience to His leading...as we believe we have. Trusting that we are not always going to be able to predict what that looks like, but that it will be good because it is from our Heavenly Father.
I'd love to get back together to pray with you and Begona again soon.
Thanks Vanessa!
You and Roberto are special people in our lives. I'm truly excited about the possibilities for the future in our church home. There's healing that needs to be done and possibly more pain ahead. But Christ will be the one to get us all through it.
Who knows? Maybe one day we will be called to go somewhere else to serve Him. Today is just not that day. We love you guys!
